My husband had the Maze 111 (minimaze) on Nov. 28, 2000 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. McCarthy did the surgery. It was very successful.
It took 5 weeks for the scar tissue to build up to a point where NSR took over. He has been in NSR ever since. He will discontinue the coumadin in about three months and then he will be off all drugs.
