Today marks three weeks. It's been a pretty smooth ride, but the pain has been pretty annoying until the last couple days.
As far as I know I have been in NSR the whole time, though we haven't done any EKG's since I left the hospital. At the hospital I fluctuated between NSR and Junctional rythym.

Every time I have checked it has been steady and strong. At times in the last few weeks I have looked down at the incision (especially when in pain) and asked myself "What in the world did I do?" Now that the pain is lessened and I am gaining energy, I'm starting to get excited.

Went out for my birthday yesterday to test drive a dirtbike I was interested in. Didn't actually ride it, but could have. Seemed a little strange to go off to drive the dirtbike when I hadn't been driving, so when the baby started fussing, I took the wheel!!!!!! That did more for my attitude than anything. For me to make it half way through the 6 weeks without driving is pretty good anyway. Haven't had any dizzyness or anything anyway.

Not on any meds (except a diuretic) and oxygen level was pretty good when I went to visit the Cardiologist, even though I had been off it for a couple hours, so we are sending that back.

Was real nice to do my follow up with the Heart Failure Clinic that had been monitoring me. I loved the puzzled and surprised looks on their faces as they listened to my heart. One had never heard of the MAZE and was quite intrigued.

Making plans for skiing next year and some fun activities this summer. Not sure where Rob is from, but maybe we can do some skiing here in Utah next year.

All my best - to all of you. Thanks for your support and prayers.

John
